In-House Digital Recording Workshop

MRC offers an in-house digital recording workshop in which students spend six hours of class learning the basics of loop based non-linear audio editing which is the standard in hip-hop production today. Students will become very familliar with Apple's GarageBand audio editing software and leave the class with a CD of their own original song. If you are an interested high school student please have any interested students refer your schools administrators to our site to sign up! Schools and organizations are also welcome to bring students to our own Teaching Studio for a discounted rate!

Audio Engineering

Technical know-how is crucial for any member who wants to master the complicated studios we provide, so the MRC hosts training sessions starting with our Basics of Recording course which is required for any student wishing to join the Fame track. Our staff and volunteers lead small groups of interested students through the intricacies of our studios and equipment, and can focus more on mastering the equipment than on producing a song.

Music Lessons

Staff members and volunteers from the Cincinnati musical community provide lessons to MRC members in a variety of subjects including guitar, bass, keyboard, voice, and music theory. All lessons are free, and scheduling may vary depending on instructor availability.

Rehearsal Space

Finding a place where they can make the amount of noise necessary to develop their chops as musicians is hard for a young band or music group. This is why MRC provides this space for them. We have two acoustically treated rehersal spaces in which MRC members may schedule time to regularly practice their stuff without worrying about the neighbors making noise complaints!

Dance Lessons

If we are able to expand our facility to the rest of our current building, we will offer hip hop dance classes. The sessions will be open to all members on a drop-in basis.
