We are currently leasing a building located at 3032 Woodburn Ave. in the Evanston area. After some renovations are confirmed and completed we will be able to officially move MRC - Cinci into it's new home.
The minimum fee for a one-year membership will be $24 and will be FREE for the first three months! If your family can afford more, we ask that you pay more, either $30.00, $50,00 or $100.00. It costs approximately $300.00 per year to bring all of our services to each student, so we need everyone to pay what they can afford.
Our goal is to make music education affordable for everyone, especially for families that have serious economic challenges. Through fundraising efforts, grants, and corporate and private donor gifts, we hope to raise the funds each year that will allow us to continue making music education affordable for everyone.
No, you don’t need to know how to play an instrument or sing before coming to MRC-Cinci. You don’t even have to own your own instrument. When you become a member of MRC, our staff and volunteers will work with you to provide you with all the tools you need to achieve your music goals. Whether you want to learn to play an instrument, form a band, make a demo or study audio engineering, we will put the pieces of the puzzle together to make your music dreams a reality. Every person sets their own goals.
You must be currently enrolled in school and be in 7th through 12 grade. Rising 7th graders are eligible for membership during the summer before starting 7th grade, and graduating seniors remain eligible until the start of the fall term.
You will need to fill out a membership application, which you can download or pick up from the MRC once we open. If you are less than 18 years old, you will need the permission of your parent or guardian in order to participate in our programs. Starting in spring of 2009 there will be a minimum annual membership fee of $24.00. Families that can afford a higher membership fee are asked to pay what they can, up to $100.00 per year.
In order to attend the MRC, you must have attended school earlier in that day. When you first arrive, you’ll be asked to sign in, and you’ll be asked whether you went to school that day. We will check up on members periodically to make sure that school attendance is regular. If a student does not go to school but attends MRC, he will be suspended from MRC for 3 days. Longer suspensions will result if the behavior is repeated. We believe that success in school is critical to success in life. The privilege of attending MRC only comes with discipline in attending school. Once you are at the center, our rules are simple: you must treat our facility, our equipment, the staff and other members with respect. Also, you must abide by our lyrics policy which does not allow for any cussing or “bad advice” lyrics.
