Research has shown that the Walnut Hills and Evanston neighborhoods are areas of the city that are under served. We have located a building in Evanston that would be convenient for students to get to after school (located within walking distance to schools or on main bus route) and that would meet all our needs. While this building would make a perfect home for MRC-Cinci, we do not yet have the funds to commit to lease or purchase this building. Until we are able to commit to this building, we will consider alternative sites that we become aware of. Regardless of where our center is located, we hope our facility will have:
There will be a fully featured digital studio which will provide 32 track recording as well as extensive sequencing, editing and mixing capabilities. It will have a vocal booth, a wood floored main tracking room and auxiliary rooms. Musicians can perform in this room during the initial recording sessions and then fine tune their creations using our extensive array of instruments, signal processing equipment and audio software packages.
We will have at least one fully stocked band practice facility that will feature a full five-piece drum kit, guitar and bass amps, and a P.A. system. Guitars, basses, mics and cables all may be checked out as well. We will be able to accommodate full-fledged band rehearsal sessions, even if the musicians don’t bring any instruments!
We hope to have at least three project rooms which will serve multiple purposes. Each studio will be outfitted with a Mac computer, various recording software, and a keyboard. These rooms will be the perfect training tool for our members to learn how to run the more complicated Recoding Studio. These studios are also the perfect place to start and complete digital compositions, be it Hip Hop beats or an entire backing band for a solo rock guitarist.
Until we find an exact location for MRC-Cinci, we can’t guarantee to have a dance room, but we sure hope that we do. This room will be the perfect place whether you want to just stop by to blow off some steam, or take part in one our dance classes. The room will have beautiful wood floors and be lined with huge mirrors so the kids can be sure they’re getting the steps just right!
